Summer's hotting up - and with it, so is the events diary! Whilst we take care of the food for celebrations - many of our clients also like to talk to us about beverages that will suit the different dishes being served.
During the summer months, cocktails are always a firm favourite and can prove incredibly memorable for guests, especially if there's a signature drink 'with a twist' that's being created for a party.
If you're looking for some summertime cocktail inspiration, here are some of our favourite tipple sources, online!
We love this recipe, as featured by Pai Skincare (who sell a fabulous range of organic beauty products for sensitive skin). They say:
"Consuming alcohol can leave you parched, particularly in hot weather. Soda water is an excellent choice for cocktails – it contains no sugar and keeps you hydrated. Cucumber Collins is a seriously refreshing drink that’s ideal for a hot day."
Shot of Gin (Pai only recommend Sipsmith)
Lots of ice
Shavings of cucumber
Elderflower cordial (optional)
Mix well and serve.
Elderflower Lemonade with Frozen Berries
This one is a great option for the 'drivers' amongst partygoers - who want something scrumptious but minus any alcohol. This gem is from Jamie Oliver - who has a whole host of cocktail suggestions on his drinks website (and you can search according to time of year!
How to mix
Squeeze the juice of one lemon into a jug, add the sugar and elderflower cordial and mix well to dissolve. Put a few ice cubes in each glass, slice the remaining lemon and add to the glasses along with the frozen berries. Top up with sparkling water to taste and mix with a straw.
