Summer news - in brief!

What an incredibly busy summer it’s been here at Menu Catering HQ! We’ve had a packed diary – particularly due to beautiful summer weddings and a host of private summer evening soirees to cater for!


As the autumn sets in, I’ve finally had a chance to sit down and review the events we’ve been working on over the summer months.


June saw us cater for a number of private parties, hosted both here in Chislehurst and also in fine dining settings in Tunbridge Wells. We were blessed with great weather on all these occasions (a rarity in itself!) - which really enhanced each celebration and made the most of the summer menus we’d prepared!


On the 4th July we were thrilled to cater for an American Independence Day celebration  - which involved a number of themed desserts, such as Baked Vanilla Cheesecake with Raspberries, and Lemon Tart with Blueberries (pictured above!). As you might imagein, the catering for this themed event was such fun to plan and present!


We’re big supporters of the 2Gether Shop in Chislehurst, so it’s always a real pleasure to provide food for their various occasions. July saw us cater for their summer staff social, which was hosted at the shop.


July also saw us catering for a gorgeous wedding at Ripley Arts Centre, one of the venues where we listed as a preferred supplier. It’s such a fantastic venue – particularly in the summer months when guests can enjoy exploring the gardens as well as the setting of the function rooms.


After visiting homes to cater for private luncheons on weekdays, we returned to Ripley once again on the 25th, where we catered for the North West Kent Graduate Women’s Annual Summer Lunch. We followed this up with another corporate booking – this time for Oxleas NHS Trust, where we took care of their two-day summer conference catering.


So far, September has been crammed with auspicious celebrations, particularly 30th and 70th birthday parties! It’s been really fun catering for these occasions and our Vintage Afternoon Tea has proved a particular favourite with clients. It’s a great option if you’re hosting a daytime celebration and looking to really treat your guests.


With autumn setting in, I’ll be back with another blog post very soon. I’ve a host of favourite recipes that are perfectly suited to this time of year – which I can’t wait to share!
